ABOUT ME:
Ibrahim Garba Ahmad is a seasoned health statistics and information management expert with over 34 years of service in Nigeria's health sector. He has played a pivotal role in advancing data-driven decision-making within the Ministry of Health, Kano State, where he served as Chief Health Statistical Officer (Deputy Director, Planning, Research & Statistics).
With a strong background in Health Management Information Systems (HMIS), Ibrahim has been instrumental in training and facilitating workshops on DHIS2, NHMIS, data management, and project performance tracking across various states. His expertise extends to monitoring and evaluation, data collection, analysis, and reporting, making him a key figure in improving healthcare data systems in Nigeria.
His academic credentials include a Higher Professional Diploma in Information Technology and numerous certifications in project management, performance tracking, and health data systems from institutions in Nigeria and abroad. Ibrahim has also collaborated with international partners like UNICEF, AFENET, and Rotary International, contributing to maternal and perinatal death surveillance initiatives.
Passionate about capacity building, Ibrahim has facilitated multiple training programs for government officials, health professionals, and data analysts to enhance data utilization for better health outcomes. His leadership in managing state-wide health data systems has significantly improved the efficiency of healthcare monitoring and evaluation in Kano State.
